My son started with Nicky almost one year ago. Prior to this, he had minimal exposure to children his own age other than the occasional soft play, farm visit etc with brief paths crossing. Since being with Nicky, he has learned a lot more about how to interact, include and share with other children. He has always been very advanced in communication, however he is learning more and more about the world around him, how to express himself, his feelings, things he does or doesn’t like etc. He comes home most days and tells me something new he has learnt from being with Nicky.

He recently had an injury from one of the other children, Nicky informed me of the situation, how she approached both children and the other parent about it, which corroborated/was the same as what my son told me happened and how she handled the situation, in his words. Marley always tells me about his day with Nicky, what he got up too, and even reiterates phrases and mannerisms of how she is teaching him certain things, ie ‘Nicky said XYZ’ ‘Nicky doesn’t do that, she does this… ‘ when telling me about something that had occurred or what he had learned.

She keeps me up to date of anything happens whilst he is in her care, his routine and how they do things, and also advises me if she is teaching him something that she wishes for me to continue at home, ie learning how to put clothes on etc. I never wanted to put him into nursery/childminding services until he could communicate so I knew he would be able to tell me if anything ever happened, and being with Nicky has put my mind totally at ease.
